Lucia Mira

Trainer /Consultant

I was born and raised in Romania. Since I was a child, I was addicted to learning, so at 19 years old I became a primary school teacher after graduating the Pedagogical High-School from Alexandria, Teleorman County. In the beginning of my professional career, teaching was my first choice, but not the only one. I graduated the Academy of Economic Studies of Bucharest, holding a Bachelor`s degree in Administrative Sciences (2002) and a Master`s degree in Finance (2009). Meanwhile, I completed my qualifications undertaking several post-graduate courses in various fields: Assessment of the Vocational Training System (2012), Training of trainers (2013), Project Management (2014), Public Procurement (2015).

My professional expertise is mainly in the field of education and training, covering the project management of higher education, vocational education and training, adult learning, and qualifications framework.

Between 2003-2010, I worked for the Romanian Ministry of Education, holding various positions (project expert, head of department, head of division), being involved in the development and coordination of EU funded projects in higher education.

Since 2011 to 2014, I was the director of the Division for Strategies, Methodologies and Informatics within the National Qualifications Authority of Romania (ANC) coordinated by the Ministry of National Education, being involved both in the development and the coordination of projects implemented by the National Qualifications Authority for designing the Romanian Qualifications Framework in accordance with the European Qualifications Framework.

Due to the fact that my professional activity was mainly project-based since 2003, I gained an important experience in European projects’ management, elaboration and implementation of various national and international projects, within the framework of EU programs, such as Phare, Leonardo da Vinci, Erasmus, Grundtvig, Lifelong Learning Programme LLP 2007 – 2013, European Social Fund.

Between 2010 – 2014, I was designated by the Ministry of Education as Romanian representative in several European working groups, such as: Working Group for Internal Market Information (IMI) System (European Commission), Recognition of Prior Learning Network (Bologna Follow-Up Group), Working Group for Financing Adult Learning (European Commission); Advisory Group for Strategy Skills (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development – OECD).

I have acquired a significant experience working in both national and European projects involving a multicultural environment and international teams. I am accustomed to work under pressure and ensure compliance with strict deadlines, in order to design, implement and report projects in my field of expertise. I have often been appreciated as a reliable colleague and as competent coordinator of various teams. I enjoy challenges and I am capable and willing to work hard in order to attain my goals. The diversity of projects I have developed and implemented in the field of education and training, as well as the variety of roles and situations I have encountered, strengthened my interpersonal skills and capabilities to take into account diversity and sensitivity, to anticipate and evaluate risks, to communicate efficiently and to develop constructive recommendations.

Taking into consideration the professional activities undertaken so far, I am always prepared to make use of all my competences, qualifications and expertise to work as Trainer/Consultant, to analyse and interpret data, to make judgements and develop recommendations, to provide rationales for decisions throughout an impartially evaluation process.

I am committed to continuous professional and personal development; committed to work based on persistence, accuracy, tasks-focused and result-orientation; ability to adjust to multi-cultural environments.
