Probabil cunoașteți unele persoane pentru care ziua de odihnă nu vine niciodată. Există întotdeauna un e-mail de citit şi de răspuns, un apel telefonic "urgent" sau chiar o extra-vizită la birou în weekend. Ar putea fi vorba despre un workaholic (o persoană dependentă de muncă). Am găsit o zicală ce îl descrie foarte frumos pe un workaholic: ”Workaholic” este cel care, aflat pe pârtia de schi, visează să revină la lucru, ”Hard worker” este cel care muncește din greu la birou și visează că se află pe pârtia de schi. Gândește-te o clipă ce ești tu: workaholic sau hard worker?

Probably you know some people for who the day of rest never comes. There is always an email to read and answer, an ‘urgent’ phone call or even an extra trip to the office in the weekend. It could be a workaholic. I found a saying what describes a workaholic very nicely: The workaholic is on the ski-slopes dreaming about being back at work, the hard worker is in the office dreaming about being on the ski-slope. Just think also about yourself: workaholic or hard worker?

The whole world is, more than other times, interested in the presidency of Donald Trump. It is clear that Donald Trump’s campaign was unconventional and the hardest and roughest since decades. Despite the scandals, rumors and opportunistic actions he won the elections, against all predictions. But especially his behavior adds question marks to the way he will lead the United States in the coming four years.

Este clar că, campania lui Donald Trump a fost una neconvenţională, mai precis cea mai dificilă şi grobiană din ultimele decenii. In ciuda scandalurilor, zvonurilor şi acţiunilor oportuniste, el a câștigat alegerile, împotriva tuturor prezicerilor. Dar mai ales comportamentul lui ridică semne de întrebare legate de felul in care el va conduce Statele Unite in următorii patru ani.

Conforming and copying of the behavior of others leads often to strange and irrational behavior. And we see that often in the world of business. Copying or automatically doing what the competitor also is doing. Every existing player in the business is afraid to take a risk and take a deep dive. Most businesses have examples of this type of management but nobody remembers why they are doing it that way. But hardly anybody dares to challenge it. And that is where the business opportunity lies. If you’re the first to do it differently, it might just bring you a lot of money.

A te conforma și a copia comportamentul celorlalți, adesea, conduce la un comportament ciudat și irațional. Și observăm acest lucru destul de des în mediul de afaceri. Să copiezi și să faci în mod automat ceea ce competitorul, de asemenea, face. Fiecărui jucător existent în lumea afacerilor îi este frică să își asume riscul și să analizeze în profunzime. Majoritatea afacerilor reprezintă exemple despre asemenea stil de management, dar nimeni nu își mai amintește de ce se procedează în acest fel. Dar aproape nimeni nu îndrăznește să răspundă provocării. Și aici este punctul în care oportunitatea afacerii apare.
